David Mears, Advisor

David Mears is the Executive Director of Audubon Vermont and a Vice President of the National Audubon Society. Audubon Vermont implements conservation strategies focused on climate, working lands, water, and bird-friendly communities, and provides educational and outreach programs based out of the Green Mountain Audubon Center. Prior to joining Audubon in 2018, Mears was Associate Dean of Environmental Programs at Vermont Law School. He also served as Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation from 2011 to 2015. Mears has a degree in environmental engineering technology from Cornell University, and a Juris Doctor and Masters of Environmental Law and Policy degrees from Vermont Law School. In his free time, he enjoys Vermont’s biodiversity while gardening, and rambling through the Green Mountain State’s hills and valleys.
