George Schenk

George Schenk is a baker and gardener. The founder and CEO of American Flatbread at Lareau Farm, he is also a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Vermont Foodbank and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, and a current member of the Warren Conservation Commission. George previously worked as a research assistant with the U.S. Forest Service, Forest Insect and Disease Laboratory, in Hamden, Connecticut, and as an Environmental Protection Specialist with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, Bureau of Solid Waste Management, and Bureau of Water Quality Management. Most afternoons you will find George at Lareau Farm, tending to the soil, vegetables, and flowers.
