Lindy Biggs

Lindy Biggs lives with her husband and dog in a co-housing community in East Montpelier. She received a dual PhD in History of Technology and Urban Studies from MIT and taught history of technology, environmental history, and sustainability for 25 years at Auburn University. The most meaningful part of a varied professional life was creating and directing the Office of Sustainability at Auburn University, which was responsible for campus sustainability and a sustainability minor. It was a wonderful challenge to open the minds of students, faculty, and administrators in the middle of Alabama! Having fallen in love with Vermont almost 40 years ago, she is happy to be back in the land of snowy winter and glorious summer. Her deep affection for the state and the natural world fuels her work with the Vermont Alliance for Half-Earth and other community work.
