Sean Beckett

Sean Beckett is the Director of Natural History and Community Science Programs at North Branch Nature Center (NBNC) in Montpelier, Vermont. NBNC is committed to connecting people with the natural world, and values the Vermont Alliance for Half-Earth as a key nexus for uniting students, teachers, scientists, and leaders. Sean and NBNC rely on the energy and expertise of this network for exploring the frontiers of place-based and nature-based education, and how biodiversity conservation can find a home in classrooms and communities. Sean holds a M.S. in Ecological Planning from The University of Vermont, where he focused on place-building via community exploration of natural and cultural features underpinning Burlington’s identity, an endeavor called Burlington Geographic.
